Hey Patrons!

After I set up my remote cameras for each launch, I work to take a hi-res panorama of the rocket on the launch pad to really get into the nitty gritty details of the rocket.

How?

I set my camera up on a tripod and take sequential photos in a rectangular grid (@ 200-300mm) with a little overlap each time. If I am on the “left” side of the grid, I keep the rocket in the right half of the frame and vise versa. (“right” side of grid, “left” side of frame)

Similarly to how I do the HDR’s I’ve told you about before, I bring it into lightroom, select those “grid” photos, right click, and select Photo Merge > Panorama.

I select the Perspective projection:

and if you leave enough overlap: I end up with a perfectly stitched 163 Megapixel panorama!

If you’d like to have download access to panos like this at future launches, (Falcon 9 Block V is coming up soon!) you can become a Licensee ($!5) Patron here!

In any case – thanks for your support!
